木の小枝、蚊帳地、麻

テーマである麻をいろいろな形で表現した作品。　蚊帳の生地をはじめ、違った味のある麻生地や麻紐を数多く使い、木の小枝でパーツごとに囲み、麻生地をはめ込んだり、編んだり、いろいろなモチーフを作る。シンプルなメンズシャツは日本特有の麻の蚊帳地をそのまま用いて風合いを生かした。帽子やサンダルも同様にして作りトータルにコーディネイトした。

第１６回オンワード新人デザイナーファッショングランプリは最大規模のファッションデザインコンテストで審査員にジャンポールゴルチエ、ルチアーノソプラーニ、森英恵、花井幸子、原由美子などの著名人を迎えて行われた。

Theme was LINEN.  The motif of this style was created by using different types of linens, linen thread, and small branches which was then knitted and patched.  The sage shirt was simply made of special linen, the Japanese Kaya.  The Kaya is used for mosquitos' net for bedrooms.  The hat and sandals were made the same for its total match.

The Onward is a leading fashion company in Tokyo.  This contest was the biggest fashion design contests at that time. They invited Jean Paul Gaultier, Luciano Soprani, Hanae Mori, as major judges for this contest.
